British Land

British Land are a property company which creates, owns and manages some of the UK’s best and most sustainable real estate. Their properties include world-class office space and retail property, with a growing focus on London urban logistics and life sciences & innovation.

THE CHALLENGE

Transform operational procedures into engaging training

In 2014, British Land posed an intriguing challenge to Beth Goodyear: to transform the company's operational procedures into compelling and impactful training sessions. The objective was to ensure communication and full understanding of the mandatory and statutory processes throughout their extensive UK commercial and retail portfolio.

THE OUTCOME

Creating a tailored solution

The project started with Beth immersing herself in the intricacies of British Land's operational procedures to develop a full operational understanding before converting them into engaging training sessions. Initially conducted in-person, the courses seamlessly transitioned online during the Covid era, aligning perfectly with British Land's widespread geographical presence across the UK. This shift has allowed teams throughout the country to participate in collective learning, facilitated discussion and the exchanging of invaluable best practices.

THE RESULTS

An ongoing programme of training support

Beth's collaboration with British Land extends well beyond the delivery of training sessions. She facilitates discussion and collects feedback, observations, and suggested improvements which are then shared with the business and used to update and improve their procedures, ensuring the material remains dynamic and current. The consistently positive feedback reflects the learners' experience as their operational procedures come to life.

The partnership with British Land has organically grown with new courses being added to the programme and since 2021, Beth has delivered all of British Land’s Mental Health training support, receiving exceptional feedback.

“Beth is a brilliant facilitator who engages an audience and creates an open forum for questions – we consistently receive highly positive feedback from all participants of her training. She manages to bring the procedures to life and creates engaging, practical and useful training courses.”
